Mummelsee Lake

Mummelsee is a serene glacial cirque lake nestled at 1,036 meters on the Black Forest High Road. According to legend, water spirits called "Mümmlein" inhabit its dark waters, with tales of a crystal castle beneath the surface. The lake offers an easy circular walk, boat rentals in summer, and traditional restaurants serving local specialties. It's a perfect stop along the scenic Schwarzwaldhochstraße.
