Burg Eltz represents Germany best-preserved medieval fortress owned by Eltz family for 34 generations since 1157. Located on 70m rock spur surrounded by Elzbach River tributary in Rhineland-Palatinate between Koblenz and Trier. Ganerbenburg structure divided among three family lines: Eltz-Kempenich (Golden Lion), Eltz-Rübenach (Silver Lion), Eltz-Rodendorf (Buffalo Horns). Eight towers reach 35m height featuring Medieval, Romanesque, Baroque, Gothic architectural mix. Never destroyed in 800-year history, strategically positioned on Moselle trade route. 80 of 120 rooms house museum with 500+ weapons, artifacts spanning 8 centuries. Current lord Dr. Karl Graf von Eltz continues family residence tradition.
