Acerca de este destino

The Semperoper in Dresden stands as one of the world's most magnificent opera houses, renowned for its stunning architecture and exceptional acoustics. Built by Gottfried Semper and completed in 1841, this baroque revival masterpiece has hosted countless world premieres and legendary performances. The opera house has a dramatic history, having been destroyed twice - first by fire in 1869 and then by Allied bombing in 1945. Each time, it was meticulously rebuilt to preserve Semper's original vision. The current building, reopened in 1985, showcases the same ornate interior with its horseshoe-shaped auditorium, elaborate ceiling frescoes, and crystal chandeliers. The Semperoper is home to the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, one of the world's oldest orchestras. The venue has premiered works by Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Carl Maria von Weber. Its program includes opera, ballet, and classical concerts. Visitors can take guided tours of the building when no performances are scheduled, exploring the grand foyer, auditorium, and learning about the theater's rich musical heritage. The building's exterior features sandstone facades with elaborate sculptural decorations representing the arts.
